Get an LL.M. degree in international and European Law at a top-ranked university;

Students must meet all of the following requirements:

1. A completed Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Law equivalent to the Dutch educational level

Students must have completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, with an educational level equivalent to the Dutch educational level. Students who have obtained their diploma in Indonesia, are required to have obtained a Master's degree in Law (Sarjana Hukum II).

For the specialisation European Law and Global Affairs: Students with a degree in Politics, Governance, International Relations, Liberal Arts or equivalent, with a substantial number of courses in Law, are also eligible for admission to this specialisation. These students should provide proof of their knowledge of the basic concepts of Law.

Students are required to have an adequate knowledge of the English language. Prospective students need to provide evidence of their proficiency by submitting one of the following tests:

A TOEFL iBT: overall score ≥ 90 & writing subscore ≥ 23, all other subscores ≥ 22;

An IELTS with a minimum score of 6.5 overall (with a minimum score of 6.0 minimum for the components listening, reading and speaking and a 6.5 minimum for writing);

A Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) with grade C or higher or Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) with grade C or higher.

Students may be exempted from providing evidence of English proficiency, if:

They have successfully completed a Bachelor's programme at an EU/EER university with at least 90 EC of English taught courses in Law; or

They have successfully completed a Bachelor's programme that's equivalent to European Law School at Radboud University, containing sufficient English taught courses; or

They have obtained a Bachelor's degree from a research university in Australia, Canada (excluding Quebec), Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, or the United States of America.

This is to be assessed and decided upon by the Examination Board.

Please explain in your motivation letter why you would like to enrol in the Master’s specialisation of your choice within the International and European Law programme. Please note that the motivation letter is obliged and plays an important role in the admission decision.

Radboud University does not offer a pre-Master’s programme in International and European Law. If you wish to enter the Master’s programme in International and European Law, you’ll need a Bachelor’s degree (from a research university) that meets the requirements.

If you are a Chinese student and want to register as a student on an English-taught programme at a Dutch higher education institution you need to apply for a Nuffic Certificate.

Admissions Option 2

This specialisation offers a unique multidisciplinary programme combining the study of European law and political science. It focuses on the main challenges facing the EU in the 21st century, and looks at the various legal rules and policy options that may be developed in response.

Curriculum

The legal tuition, set by the Dutch government, is applicable to EU/EEA*, Swiss or Surinamese students who have not yet obtained a Master's degree in the Netherlands. There are some exceptions to these conditions. If you do not meet the above conditions and are from an EEA country, you qualify for the EEA institutional tuition fee. If you are from a non-EEA country (excl. Switzerland and Suriname), you qualify for the non-EEA institutional tuition fee.

Please note, as a non-EU/EEA student you are eligible for the legal fee if you:

Receive a UAF grant (for refugee students in the Netherlands);

or if you meet the nationality requirement for a government study grant from DUO.

*EU/EEA countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands (including the Dutch Caribbean), Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain or Sweden.

Program Tuition Fees Option 2

Students who have successfully completed this specialisation will be able to pursue a variety of job opportunities at the national or the international level. They may for example find work as policy advisor, consultant or lobbyist in the public sector, governmental agencies or other non-governmental organisations, or continue their career in academia.
